What is the author trying to say, what's his main message? From my point of view, the author is trying to tell, how it is, being independent as a teenager. Or how to get independent. So he writes about Christopher, a 15 year old boy, who wants to be responsible for himselve. Because of his condition, Christopher cannot be as independent as he would like. Since he has trouble understanding other people, dealing with new environments, and making decisions when confronted with an overload of new information, for instance, he has difficulty going places by himself. When he feels frightened or overwhelmed, he has a tendency to essentially shut down, curling himself into a ball and trying to block out the world around him. In my opinion, the author does not suceed in telling the main purpose of the story. I got more focused on Christophers personality ,not about a teenager who is trying to get independant. Words ~ 157
What from the story (character/plot) would you wish to have in your own life? Sometimes I wish, I would be as intelligent as Christopher is. He's able to solve math problemes just with his brain, without any calculator. Im also stunned about his photographical memory. It would be really interesting to experience this feeling, for a few weeks. It seems helpful, you would never have to learn anything by heart. You could just read for example dictionary once , and it's in your head for the rest of your life. But I think it's not just an advantage. If you remember everything you see, it could make you depressive if you see something bad happen. Or what if your memory is full, and is not able to pick up any new informations. All in all I would never wish being someone else. If you want to achieve things, which somebody else did, you can do it, if you really want it. Words~160
