Reflection

What did I learn while reading the book? I could improve my reading skills, because the writing in the book is not that difficult, but I could still learn a lot new words.  But besides of the language, there were some things i never heard of. For example, when Christopher is talking about math, I had to read the parts twice, so I could understand what he was trying to explain. The book has way more information in it, then I have ever thought. I thought that it's a book for children, but some chapters are about the univers or the speed of light. For those topics you need a little bit previous knowledge to understand the basics. It is strange to read about those complex things, which were allegedly written by a 15 year old boy. All in all i learned who Christopher Boone is and how he reacts and thinks about stuff. Because he's special(savant), it makes you think different about those people, and about how they see the world. After finishing the book, i started looking at ...

Prediction

What are your prospections how the story will end? After 50 Pages, i thought that he will find the murder, who killed Wellingtion and that he will pass the level A math test. But after i passed chapter 157, i started to change my mind. In this chapter, he's reading some letters from his mother, who is still alive. She left with Mr. Shears and moved to london. I can imagine, that Christopher is going to find his mother and live with her. There are some signs. One of them is, that his father lied to him, because he told Christopher that his mother died. An the other is, that he found out, who killed Wellingtion, Mrs. Shears dog. It is Mr. Boone, Christophers father. Because of that, Christopher thinks, that his father could kill him too. These two reasons are the cause, why i think, the story will end like this: "Christopher flees from his father, travels to london to find his mum, and they will end up being a complete family, Christopher his mother and Mr.Shears. Mr.Boone w...

Empathy

What do you like to see changing in the book? I wish, that Christopher would change his behaver. When there is trouble around him, and he is in the middle of it, and does not know what to do, he just says nothing and starts groaning. If he gets touched in these situations, he will just hit this person. Doesn't matter if its a policeofficer or his own father.  Once Christopher had a big fight with his father, both got out of controll and punshed eachother. But it does not end always in a tussle. Sometimes Christopher flees and hides somewhere, where he can't be seen. One time, he got so scared of his father, he left the house at 3AM and went into the shed with his pet(Toby). Even when his father was looking for him, he tried to stay undiscovered.  Normally Christopher is a bold boy, but when he gets scared, he is hiding and preparing his swiss army knife, which is always in his pocket. But if Christopher would change his personality, the hole story would make no sense. ...

Characterization

Christopher Boone Chrostopher is 15 years old and lives in Swindow, a small village in Britain. He's not a normal child, because he has a photographic memory and he's not able to lie. One thing I dont like about him is his shyness. Always when strangers start talking to him, he just walks away. He could find the murder ten times faster if he would be able to start a conversation with or do some small talk with strangers. But besides of his odd behavour, he seems to be a smart guy. He thinks different, outside the box, and I like that. That is the reason why he's book is not following a predictable line, instead he alternates between he's thoughts and experriences. His vision how the world and the univers works, has way more depht than you'd think. For example, if he sees some red cars in the morning, he believes that it's going to be a good day, if the cars are yellow it will be a bad day for him. It's hard to understand why, but i like his imaginati...

Analysis

Name some of the main themes of the book. The main story is about a young boy, who is trying to find the murder of a dog, called Wellington. Besides of that, he talkes a lot about his thoughts ans his background. One story is about, how his mother died because of a heart attacke. And why his father doesn't want to talk about it. But the all the other stories and more about, what he thinks about different stuff. For example on page 105, he explanes why he hates the coulours yellow and brown. The most interesting side story, in my opinion is on chapter 47. For Christopher, there are two main types of a day. One is a good day, and the other a bad one. If they passed 4 red cars in a row with the schoolbus in the morning, it meant that it was Good Day. 3 red cars in a row made it a Quite Good Day and so on. A Black Day for Christopher is, when they pass 4 yellow cars in a row. If you want to know what he does in these situations you can look it up on page 31. Words ~ 195

The curious incident... My first impression

What's my firts impression about the book? It was a thrilling start, but after 2 more chapters the story just made a break and went to another topic. It's eazy to read, but sometimes hard to follow, because of the constant back and forth between the main story and some backround stories. For example, at the end of chapter 11, he wrote: "The policeman took hold of my arm and lifted me onto my feet. I didn't like him touching me like this. And this is when I hit him." After that, the chapter ends and he starts with chapter 13 like. There he says:" This will not be a funny book. I cannot tell jokes because I do not understand them. Here is a joke as an example....." And then he writes about, why he can't tell jokes. Do you like reading this kind of books? Yes, because you get more ideas how the boy in the book felt. You also learn about his backround, family and childhood, which in my opinien, needs to be in every story, so you understand why th...
